they drifted through the sea in a boat made of stars

oil painting on birch panel
ten inches square
$800 available through sebastian foster gallery
also available as a limited edition print

my son's fascination with dinosaurs has recently been edged out by a discovery of all things space.  while i enjoyed the dinosaur books and i'm sure my new found knowledge of plesiosaurs and micropachycephalosauruses will come in useful someday,  i'm thrilled to be spending my time reading about distant galaxies and shooting stars and think it will have quite a bit more impact on my work than the dinosaur books ever did.  so here's another piece featuring my ongoing and expanding obsession with the stars.

This might be my favorite yet. Especially love the contrasting patterns on the water, sky and boat.

This stars in the night sky... 2 figures on a boat... very archetypal image that speaks to the core of one at the same time it delights visually!
