oil painting on birch panel

once in an art history class my teacher was discussing degas, she was listing off various reasons for/theories of why he painted so many ballerinas and she ended with maybe he just liked tutus. i love tutus.

you can now see (and purchase) any of my pieces that are in l.a. for the enormous tiny art show.

I grew up with a Degas print of ballerinas in my room. When I was little, I wanted to be a ballerina. When I got older, I wanted to be an artist.

I don't think it's a coincidence. And I like tutus, too.

And I like dancing. But not for me, to watch. I like So You Think You Can Dance, which is on tonight. Maybe I'll paint a tutu in honor of it.

I have a lovely pony named Lola who I dress up all in pink. She is quite the princess and needs a pink tutu, I believe.
Thank you, Amanda, for holding inside yourself and expressing for those of us who cannot the beauty you see and feel. Your artwork is extraordinary.
